Addoring our walls in the living room, and even up the stairs, are many rose related items. These include the works of both Arthur Williams, who was an English artist best known for his paintings of freshly cut flowers from his garden, and prints of the botantist and painter, Pierre-Joseph Redoute.

Born in Steyning, Sussex on March 20th, 1922, Albert George Williams was taught to paint by both his father and grandfather. His father, Arthur Conway Williams (1886-1980) was according to the 1911 Census a Furniture Decorator and Painter. While his grandfather, William George Williams (1858-1956) is recorded their as a decorative artist, painter of furniture houses and maker of plaster wall coverings.
As well as being taught to paint by his family, Albert studied under Louis Ginnett M.A. and at th Brighton College of Arts. His works mainly of flowers were to be exhibited at the Royal Aademy, the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of British Artists. He was to die at the age of eighty-eight on December 12th, 2010.
